The 6-foot Singletary said all season he planned to return. But he declared for the draft in late April, saying he wanted to visit predraft camp and work out for some teams to get feedback about his game before he graduates.
He worked out for several NBA teams, including his hometown Philadelphia 76ers last Friday, and said he planned to discuss the decision with his family over the weekend.
Singletary had until midnight Monday to pull his name out of consideration for the draft, and could only make that move if he had not yet retained an agent.
A co-captain for the last two seasons, Singletary averaged 19 points, 4.7 assists and 4.6 rebounds as a junior. He also made 87.2 percent of his 218 free-throw attempts.
Virginia finished 21-11, shared the ACC regular-season title with North Carolina and reached the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2001, advancing to the second round.
