(The Spread) - The Buccaneers and Jets just pulled off a major pre-draft trade, one that has had an affect on both teams' 2014 Super Bowl odds.

On Sunday the Bucs signed cornerback Darrelle Revis to a new six-year, $96 million contract that makes him the highest paid defensive back in NFL history as far as annual average is concerned. The deal doesn't contain any guaranteed money, however, which makes sense given the fact that Revis is coming off major surgery on his knee.

In exchange for arguably their best player on either side of the ball, the Jets received the Bucs' first-round pick in 2013, the 13th overall selection in this month's NFL draft. They also received a conditional 2014 fourth-round pick that could escalate to a third-rounder based on whether or not Revis is on the Bucs' roster on the third day of the 2014 league year.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Bucs' 2014 Super Bowl odds have gone from 50/1 down to 40/1, while the Jets' odds have climbed from 66/1 to 75/1. Tampa Bay's secondary was one of the worst in the league last year, as it finished 29th in passing yards allowed. If he's healthy, Revis makes the Bucs' defensive backfield significantly better.

As for the Jets, they'll likely rely on Antonio Cromartie and former first-round pick Kyle Wilson to man the corner positions this season, just as they did last year when Revis went down with the ACL injury. Then again, with two first-round picks they might target Alabama's Dee Milliner or Florida State's Xavier Rhodes on Thursday night.
